Red Velvet Waffles

These homemade red velvet waffles are 100% madefrom scratch - no need for a cake mix! They have a delicious, lusciouschocolate kick and are the perfect way to impress your family for Sunday brunch!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups hot milk
  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp red gel food coloring
  • Cooking spray

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, sift together all dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking powder, sugar and cocoa powder.
  • Once sifted, add the eggs and mix. Next, add the hot milk, butter and vinegar. Mix until a smooth batter has formed.
  • Add red gel food coloring to the waffle batter and mix until it is completely tinted.
  • Spray waffle iron with cooking spray and cook waffles according to your machine’s directions. Serve with your preferred waffle toppings (whipped cream, chocolate chips, maple syrup, etc.) and enjoy!
