Supporting local and enjoying staycation in our favourite Canadian spot: Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello.
There’s nothing more refreshing than getting to know your home country in a deeper way. Our family is huge on travelling. Recently, we realized that a good vacation doesn’t necessarily involve crossing borders.
Having been born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, I always had the urge of “getting away” – especially to tropical destinations during colder seasons. My first biggest “grown-up” trip (ie.: a trip sans parents!) was a Cuban destination with my best friend at the ripe age of 17. I caught the travel bug ever since.
Now that I have a family of my own, we’re all about exploring the world together. You know what? There’s something fascinating about exploring Canada, learning more about our beautiful nation.
A True Staycation in Montebello, Quebec
Staycations can be defined as the following: a) Staying home during time off from work, enjoying home-based activities. b) Staying within your nation’s borders, exploring what your home country has to offer.

Though our little family loves travelling far and wide, there’s something very special about staying close to home. Every year, as a family tradition, we enjoy a true staycation at Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello – a gorgeous log cabin resort (the largest in the world!) with the most impressive amenities, located in the heart of Montebello, Quebec.
How to Enjoy a Family Staycation at Fairmont Le Château Montebello
If you’re looking for a relaxing stay at an impressive Canadian resort, then Fairmont Le Château Montebello should be your number one destination.
Gorgeous Rooms
For me, a staycation is all about relaxation: and Fairmont Montebello knows exactly how to accommodate relaxation. In general, our family’s “far off” vacations include long-winded itineraries to make the most of our time away. Staycations, on the other hand, are a great excuse to just unwind.

Fairmont Montebello’s guestrooms are out of this world – and the perfect place to unwind and take it easy. We particularly love their Luxury Rooms: newly renovated guestrooms that boast contemporary décor and details while still maintaining a cozy cabin feel.
On our most recent trip, our Luxury Room had a walk-in rainfall shower and it was absolutely delightful! The bathroom’s ambiance gave off a spa-like feel, giving me a chance to enjoy some well-deserved me-time.

Delicious Foodie Options
You’ll never leave Fairmont Le Château Montebello hungry. Their restaurants and in-room dining services are beyond.

Aux Chantignoles is Fairmont Montebello’s main restaurant – and one you should definitely check out. We love dining here, especially for breakfast and dinner. The menu is out of this world and the staff always leaves a positive impression.

Within Fairmont Montebello, you can also enjoy the Bistro Le Seigneurie or their bar services within their impressive lounge.
Lounging Around
When you arrive for check-in at Fairmont Le Château Montebello, you’ll discover that their lobby is like no other! The large space serves as a cozy lounge area, with a large central fireplace surrounded by beautiful armchairs and sofas. You’ll want to get comfortable even before going into your room to unpack your luggage!
